Is there a kind of film that you would like that never gets made?

Is there a kind of film that you would like to watch that never gets made?

I am starting to develop ideas for my first feature film.

I would like to do something original, but some something that people would like to see.

  • There mystery and detective films,
  • There are love stories and buddy films,
  • There are epic and western films,
  • There are fantasy ad science fiction films,
  • There are comedy and satire films,
  • There are faith based and message films,
  • There are history and biography films,
  • There are action and adventure films and
  • There are horror and war films.

Are there any other types of films that no one is making these days?

Can you help me by telling me what kind of movie you would like to see that isn't getting made now?

Thanks

Have you ever read anything from Chuck Palahniuk...He wrote the book fight club...but if you read his book Survivor...any movie within that context would be an amazing movie...wouldn't have to be off that book...just in the context the book was written...

I wanna se a musical...but not one of the teybper musiclas like Highschool Musical and Hairspray that are being made today. Something more classic and epic.

Yes, there isn't a lot of musicals being made, and none of the traditional kind.

I am not that musical myself, although I do enjoy music. I'll need to find a musican to work with.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi James. I just put in a friend request.

I'm no expert but it seems to me that the films that are more likely to be made are those that they feel will make a lot a money at the box office. One thing that the industry seems to shy away from is controversial issues. The kind of issues that others don't want to face.

On another note. I am a Jedi Master and I would love to see a movie made about real live Jedi Knights and Masters. Most people don't know the Jediism, the religion of the Jedi is now a recognizes religion the world over.

Sincerely,

I wouls like to see a film made about LONDON ,UK.How things done around here.People in power careless about the people in need, they just take their high wages and do fxxx all, bardon my french.

e.g your film can point out every little thing that LONDON Gov.staff . LONDON bus service well as every things are not done properly but in your film , there is a new leader win the election and put evrything right!

If you want the full idea and it's not for FREE.... Above story will interest all people! why? because it's about their life and how their life can be changed but people in power are not doing anything about it.

Easy and taking a candy from child, you can show it on the film, how it can be done!

hmmmm I like comedy, history and documentaries anything you make (and I'm sure you can) would be appreciated by me would love to see what you make.

Thank you for you comments.

I have always been a little afraid of doing documentary films. Although in recent years they have become more popular.

I would like to do comedy. Comedy isn't easy, but a couple of my short films are funny. Do you watch them?

Dear Mr.James

Im glad if my ideas can be useful for you.

I graduated from filming field and also interested
in film but not much. I have so many plots of feature films
in my head but never once finished its.

Thoughts and minds of insane person is one of which i think attractive and personally be curious about. Im not quite sure if this kind of story've ever been made or not
(may be yes) but i still never watch its. I'd like to make a
story from this plot but still cant figure out how to create
the story line. I think you could do it

I hope this can help.

Best,
Dewey

Thank you for sharing your ideas. I think it could make an interesting story.

I am sure that someone has done something like that before, but I can't think of any. Anyway, it is how you tell the story that make it special.

Hi James,

One of the Romantic film that is still popular until now is 'Titanic'. I like Romantic Film, there are including of 'mystery of life'. We never know, whats happen in the future. There is hoping, dream, lies, disapointed, happiness in our life... Sometimes life is beautiful but sometimes its painful. Most of them are both. That is my opinion, hope could help you..

Thanks for your thoughts.

'Titanic' cost $200,000,000, a little more than I have in my piggy bank. :-(

Fortunately I don't think I need to spend that kind of money to make a romantic movie.

I think you are saying that a romance can be about the struggle against the bad things in life to get to the good things in life.

I'll see what I can come up with.

I want to make a blog and give my own opinion about your option, It's not enough describing in this comment page. Because you will face with your idealism as movie maker and market demand. At least your ROI must be back soon. Thanks for sharing,

Thanks. I am lookng forward to your blog.

It is a challenge to balance idealism with marketing.

But then, what use is a movie if no one sees it?

Like poets, movie makers make their art by using their contrains as inspiration for creativity.

I think most themes have been made for movies. Even animation interacting with reality has also been made. But that's a good question, what would I like to see that has not been made? Remember the Sequel and Prequel After Sunset and Before Sunset? Something pretty much like that, like you shoot to edit kind of, with very live scoring. But let me give you a more intelligent answer when I come back. I hope you find something cool pretty soon.

Thank you for your comment. I liked 'Before Sunrise', although I was disappointed with the sequil. Everyone else I talked to thought the sequel was better. I liked 'Slacker' too.

I would like to make a film like 'Before Sunrise'. I will need to develop some interesting characters to make it work.

I haven't seen a really good comedy in a long time. Does that help at all?
Reply | 6/28/2009 12:19:54 AM
Thanks for your comment. Yes it does help.

I am not sure if I am funny enough to make a good comedy.

I did do a couple shorts that were intended to be funny. One is on-line at: http://www.openfilm.com/videos/who_shot_the_president/

Te response I got was that many people found it offensive. I would like to hear what you think though.
