Why I believe myviewin is a scam
I've been referred recently to a site called myviewin.com which have a concept similar to Yuwie, maybe you are a member or you have already received invitations from other Yuwie members.

I signed up a bit quickly and at first I really liked the site, very clean, cool interface, good functionalities, good design...

I went to read the privacy page and was surprised to discover that they just tell you that they need to collect your email and a few other infos but don't write anywhere that they will not sell or transfer it to third parties, which is usually the basis of any privacy statement.

This got me a bit more curious, I went to the "about us" page and found out...nothing! No company name, no private name, just a very anonymous "team".

Definitely getting suspicious about this site, I did a lookup on the whois database to find out who is the owner of the domain name. Guess what, its rented under a privacy protection company, so you can't find out who it is!

Of course, I immediately contacted the support to ask them about theses important issues. Guess what, they didn't answer...

I went back to the site and looked for a "close my account" link but I could find only a "suspend" link, so I can't even close my account!

I might be wrong on this one, but IMO this is just too many things pointing in the same direction. As the saying goes, if it looks like it, if it smells like it, then it's probably it.

Please update me if you have any contrary or complementary information.

So far there is no smoking gun linking myview the market research firm, with (forbidden content) the mystery social networking site. However it is quite interesting that myview, a division of return path which specializes in email, is the genius behind behavioural marketing. I've put what I have so far on my blog, and continue to work the myview angle. I'll have more posted within 24 hours.

Thanks ! very funy, but real case.....it's said that many companies, or people are doing such wrong media
on the net....I advice you and all your friends not to jump out from the boat, if all we are happy on YUWIE let's make here a big downline....working together, day by day it's possible. Success is not borning at night , it takes time , YUWIE is in fact home business, like an internet marketing problem, because handle many types of advertising , like any serious site of products (eBay), marketing softwares of big name on Internet, or sites of huge companies....think about ..it's name is YUWIE, but the rules are all the same......the fact is many people have not enough energy to stay and work, but meantime it's just fun, ideas sharing, a lot of kind activities ! success & big list ! kisses Eva (please visit my page !)

LOL! Very well said! I for one would like to thank you for the heads up. It never hurts to look before you leap. True friends look out for one another. Your showing that at its best! Thanks again Marco!

Hi Marco.
I wished I'd read this before I signed up! Thanks for the heads up. I've actually changed the info in my account and changed my e-mail for a bogus e-mail so now my status is un-confirmed until i click on the confirmation e-mail, which I wont be able to, so the account should get deleted!

Nige.

Good instincts Marco. I can add a bit more. I've done a search of corporate registries, trademark offices around the world, news articles, and Government records. I can't find any sort of footprint left behind by this company. Whoever set it up went to great effort to ensure there's a nice big firewall between the site and whoever owns it. On top of that the privacy policy isn't a privacy policy at all. It only spells out one clause, and that is we will take your information. If someone can get the IP address I could try a few more avenues...

Thanks for your input. I signed up an account quite a while back, but have never done anything with it. Now I know I won't even attempt. Let me know (anyone) if you figure out how to cancel your account. I don't need my e-mail address hanging around out there uneccesarily...I already get enough junk mail as it is. Have a great one, Marco!!
